On December 1, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 15,651 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 15,651 new cases, 15,595 are domestic and 56 are imported. The CECC announced 53 deaths today.

Regarding the 15,595 new domestic cases, 6,913 are male and 8,669 are female, while the gender of the other 13 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,568 were reported in New Taipei City, 1,999 in Taichung City, 1,962 in Kaohsiung City, 1,715 in Taoyuan City, 1,279 in Taipei City, 1,258 in Tainan City, 956 in Changhua County, 532 in Hsinchu City, 524 in Hsinchu County, 496 in Pingtung County, 443 in Miaoli County, 344 in Yunlin County, 270 in Chiayi County, 255 in Nantou County, 231 in Yilan County, 211 in Hualien County, 182 in Keelung City, 164 in Chiayi City, 108 in Taitung County, 65 in Kinmen County, 31 in Penghu County, and two in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 53 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 35 men and 18 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 56 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between October 27 and November 29, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 20,124,560 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,792,828. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,329,008 cases. Of the 8,329,008 confirmed cases, 37,772 are imported; 8,291,182 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 14,387 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 14,387 deaths, 14,370 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
