CECC confirms 3 more domestic COVID-19 cases; CECC launches epidemiological investigations and adopts epidemic prevention measures


On January 5, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced three new confirmed domestic cases (case numbers to be assigned) of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The three cases are cleaning personnel from the contractor of the airport, and were tested under the expanded testing program. They tested positive for COVID-19 this evening.

The CECC pointed out that the three cases are female and that one of them is in her 50s while the other two are in their 60s. The Ct values were 33.8, 23.4, and 19.5. The three women are employees at the same workplace as Cases #17230, 17238, 17239, and 17266. Related investigations, contact tracing, and epidemic prevention and control efforts are under way.
