On February 1, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 60 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 60 cases, 16 are domestic and 44 are imported (seven of them tested positive after landing). The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the domestic cases, they are seven men and nine women, aged between under five and 69 years.

Regarding the 44 new imported cases, they are 33 men and 11 women, aged between under five and 59 years. 39 of them arrived in Taiwan from Malaysia (20 cases), the US (six cases), the UK (three cases), Japan (two cases), Poland, the Philippines, Vietnam, Brazil, India, Panama, Sweden, and France; the areas where the remaining five cases arrived are being investigated. They all arrived between January 17 and January 31, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 5,684,887 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 5,665,865. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 18,850 cases. Of the 18,850 confirmed cases, 3,715 are imported; 15,081 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 127 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 851 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 851 deaths, 838 are from domestic cases and the other 13 are from imported cases.
