On June 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 35,632 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 35,632 new cases, 35,596 are domestic and 36 are imported. The CECC announced 144 deaths today.

Regarding the 35,596 new domestic cases, 16,811 are male and 18,764 are female, while the gender of the other 21 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 5,312 were reported in Taichung City, 5,280 in Kaohsiung City, 4,267 in New Taipei City, 3,123 in Tainan City, 3,097 in Taoyuan City, 2,960 in Changhua County, 2,296 in Taipei City, 1,519 in Pingtung County, 1,040 in Yunlin County, 959 in Miaoli County, 941 in Hsinchu County, 886 in Nantou County, 683 in Chiayi County, 674 in Hsinchu City, 590 in Yilan County, 554 in Hualien County, 437 in Keelung City, 426 in Chiayi City, 306 in Taitung County, 158 in Penghu County, 71 in Kinmen County, and 17 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 144 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 83 men and 61 women ranging in age from 20 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 36 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between June 4 and 19, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 12,806,345 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,471,959. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 3,330,695 cases. Of the 3,330,695 confirmed cases, 13,859 are imported; 3,316,782 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 5,365 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 5,365 deaths, 5,350 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
