Starting on December 4, Taiwan to suspend entry of all Indonesian migrant workers for two weeks

On November 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it would temporarily suspend entry of all Indonesian migrant workers coming to Taiwan to work for two weeks, from December 4 until December 17, in response to the escalating coronavirus situation in Indonesia and to ensure domestic epidemic prevention efforts and to reduce imported infections through Indonesian migrant workers. The CECC will evaluate whether to decrease the originally permitted cap for accepting Indonesian migrant workers each week by half from December 18, based on the status of the pandemic in Indonesia. Furthermore, the CECC will, on a rolling basis, review and decide whether more related control measures should be imposed based on the status of the pandemic.
