To enhance screening among elderly people and ensure their health, elderly people aged 65 and older eligible for five free at-home rapid antigen tests starting September 1

On August 25, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that, starting September 1, each individual aged 65 or older (born in or before 1957) can go to places where at-home rapid test kits are sold under the name-based distribution system and collect a pack of five rapid tests free of charge by presenting their National Health Insurance Card. Free rapid test kits collected under this policy will not be counted as the amount of test kits an individual can buy under the name-based rapid test distribution system. That is, individuals 65 and older who have purchased rapid tests under the rapid test distribution system will still be eligible for a pack of five rapid tests free of charge. Free rapid tests can be collected at nearly 5,000 NHI-contracted pharmacies and district public health centers that sell at-home rapid tests under the rapid test distribution system across the country.
