On January 10, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 25,063 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 25,063 new cases, 24,503 are domestic and 560 are imported. The CECC announced 26 deaths today.

Regarding the 24,503 new domestic cases, 11,396 are male and 13,092 are female, while the gender of the other 15 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 4,759 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,207 in Taichung City, 2,997 in Kaohsiung City, 2,719 in Taipei City, 2,335 in Taoyuan City, 1,990 in Tainan City, 1,099 in Changhua County, 695 in Hsinchu County, 671 in Miaoli County, 660 in Pingtung County, 592 in Hsinchu City, 544 in Yunlin County, 394 in Nantou County, 383 in Chiayi County, 356 in Keelung City, 346 in Yilan County, 272 in Chiayi City, 175 in Hualien County, 119 in Kinmen County, 116 in Taitung County, 69 in Penghu County, and five in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 26 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 13 men and 13 women ranging in age from 50 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 560 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between December 10, 2022, and January 9, 2023.

The CECC reported that a total of 21,085,176 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,985,422. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 9,097,554 cases. Of the 9,097,554 confirmed cases, 43,563 are imported; 9,053,937 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 15,608 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 15,608 deaths, 15,589 are from domestic cases and the other 19 are from imported cases.
