On October 29, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 32,520 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 32,520 new cases, 32,486 are domestic and 34 are imported. The CECC announced 76 deaths today.

Regarding the 32,486 new domestic cases, 14,841 are male and 17,630 are female, while the gender of the other 15 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 5,671 were reported in New Taipei City, 4,343 in Taichung City, 3,962 in Kaohsiung City, 3,282 in Taoyuan City, 2,987 in Taipei City, 2,189 in Tainan City, 1,825 in Changhua County, 1,052 in Pingtung County, 887 in Yunlin County, 760 in Hsinchu City, 760 in Hsinchu County, 673 in Chiayi County, 666 in Miaoli County, 631 in Nantou County, 516 in Yilan County, 447 in Chiayi City, 425 in Hualien County, 419 in Keelung City, 175 in Taitung County, 105 in Kinmen County, 72 in Penghu County, and nine in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 76 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 44 men and 32 women ranging in age from 20 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 34 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between September 29 and October 28, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,286,933 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,625,591. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 7,658,580 cases. Of the 7,658,580 confirmed cases, 36,304 are imported; 7,622,222 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 12,696 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 12,696 deaths, 12,679 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
