On April 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced two new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Both cases are women in their 20s. Case #421 visited Canada for study on January 16, and had a productive cough on April 13. After arriving in Taiwan on April 19, she was tested for COVID-19 at the airport for having these symptoms, and the case was reported to health agencies as a suspected case. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 20. Case #422 went to the United States for study on January 11, and traveled to Spain from January 14 to March 15. She had breathing difficulties, a sore throat and abdominal pain on March 8. She voluntarily provided information about her recent health condition on the health declaration when arriving in Taiwan from the United States. She was tested for COVID-19 at the airport, and the case was reported to relevant health agencies as a suspected case. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 20.
