CECC confirms 11,915 more COVID-19 cases, including 11,888 domestic cases and 27 imported cases


On November 21, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 11,915 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 11,915 new cases, 11,888 are domestic and 27 are imported. The CECC announced 41 deaths today.

Regarding the 11,888 new domestic cases, 5,512 are male and 6,372 are female, while the gender of the other four cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 1,861 were reported in New Taipei City, 1,582 in Taichung City, 1,520 in Kaohsiung City, 1,407 in Taoyuan City, 1,121 in Tainan City, 1,039 in Taipei City, 643 in Changhua County, 395 in Pingtung County, 362 in Hsinchu County, 320 in Miaoli County, 297 in Hsinchu City, 276 in Yunlin County, 193 in Nantou County, 173 in Yilan County, 170 in Chiayi County, 154 in Hualien County, 137 in Keelung City, 99 in Chiayi City, 66 in Taitung County, 34 in Kinmen County, 34 in Penghu County, and five in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 41 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 24 men and 17 women ranging in age from 50 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 27 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between October 21 and November 19, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,921,301 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,743,703. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,174,903 cases. Of the 8,174,903 confirmed cases, 37,285 are imported; 8,137,564 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 13,991 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 13,991 deaths, 13,974 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
