COVID-19 vaccine appointments for first shot, second shot or booster shot widely available; CECC urges individuals who have been fully vaccinated for five months to get a booster shot and people who are not fully vaccinated to complete their vaccine series for full protection


On December 13, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) pointed out that vaccinations with the first and second doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT), AstraZeneca (AZ), Moderna, and Medigen vaccines, mixing of AZ with a second dose of BNT or Moderna, and booster shots for individuals who have completed COVID-19 vaccination series for five months have become widely available. Eligible individuals are urged to get a vaccination appointment through the COVID-19 Vaccination Registration and Reservation System (https://1922.gov.tw/; "the System") or directly at healthcare facilities or local district public health centers each local government designates to provide the jabs.

Appointments for the BNT vaccine will be open in 18th round of bookings on the system, and eligibility and schedules are listed below.

A. Eligibility: individuals who registered on the System before 6 a.m. on December 13 and meet any of the following criteria:
1. The first dose of the BNT vaccine: people aged 12 or older (born on December 16, 2009, or earlier).
2. The second dose of the BNT vaccine: people aged 18 or older (born on December 31, 2003, or earlier) who received their first dose of BNT before November 18 (inclusive).
3. Mixing of AZ with a second dose of the BNT vaccine: people aged 18 or older (born on December 16, 2003, or earlier) who received their first dose of AZ before October 21 (inclusive).

B. Scheduling appointments: from 10 a.m. on December 14 to 12 p.m. on December 15.

C. Vaccination: from December 16 to December 22.
