CECC confirms 22,634 more COVID-19 cases, including 22,593 domestic cases and 41 imported cases


On October 31, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 22,634 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 22,634 new cases, 22,593 are domestic and 41 are imported. The CECC announced 59 deaths today.

Regarding the 22,593 new domestic cases, 10,556 are male and 12,026 are female, while the gender of the other 11 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 3,804 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,006 in Taichung City, 2,765 in Kaohsiung City, 2,567 in Taoyuan City, 2,025 in Taipei City, 1,929 in Tainan City, 1,265 in Changhua County, 693 in Pingtung County, 632 in Hsinchu County, 523 in Yunlin County, 523 in Hsinchu City, 494 in Miaoli County, 480 in Nantou County, 419 in Chiayi County, 327 in Yilan County, 324 in Keelung City, 265 in Hualien County, 252 in Chiayi City, 121 in Taitung County, 101 in Kinmen County, 72 in Penghu County, and six in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 59 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 30 men and 29 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 41 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between October 5 and October 30, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,350,182 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,634,680. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 7,712,726 cases. Of the 7,712,726 confirmed cases, 36,388 are imported; 7,676,284 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 12,831 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 12,831 deaths, 12,814 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
