CECC confirms 31,547 more COVID-19 cases, including 31,500 domestic cases and 47 imported cases


On October 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 31,547 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 31,547 new cases, 31,500 are domestic and 47 are imported. The CECC announced 76 deaths today.

Regarding the 31,500 new domestic cases, 14,524 are male and 16,969 are female, while the gender of the other seven cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 5,356 were reported in New Taipei City, 4,292 in Taichung City, 3,723 in Kaohsiung City, 3,138 in Taoyuan City, 2,925 in Taipei City, 2,915 in Tainan City, 1,597 in Changhua County, 1,004 in Pingtung County, 810 in Hsinchu County, 799 in Hsinchu City, 722 in Miaoli County, 719 in Yunlin County, 699 in Nantou County, 620 in Chiayi County, 533 in Yilan County, 473 in Keelung City, 393 in Chiayi City, 318 in Hualien County, 210 in Taitung County, 157 in Kinmen County, 89 in Penghu County, and eight in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 76 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 45 men and 31 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 47 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between September 30 and October 28, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,323,130 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,630,272. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 7,690,110 cases. Of the 7,690,110 confirmed cases, 36,347 are imported; 7,653,709 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 12,772 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 12,772 deaths, 12,755 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
