On October 2, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced ten new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. All those cases are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the ten new imported cases, they are five men and five women, aged between 10 to 39 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Nicaragua, Japan, Thailand, the UK (two cases), Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Somaliland, and Vietnam. They arrived between September 17 and September 30.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,426,479 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,408,719. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,244 cases. Of the 16,244 confirmed cases, 1,609 are imported; 14,581 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 843 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 843 deaths, 831 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
