CECC confirms 1 more imported COVID-19 case; French technician found to have COVID-19 after taking self-paid test


On September 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced one new confirmed imported case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The new case is a French man in his 50s (Case #514) who works as a technician in the manufacturing industry. The case traveled to Taiwan for work.

The CECC reported that the case had provided a certificate of a negative COVID-19 test taken within three days of boarding. He hasn't shown any suspected symptoms since entry. The case entered Taiwan on September 11 and underwent quarantine at a quarantine hotel after entry. He took a COVID-19 test arranged by the company at which he works on September 28. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on September 30. The case is currently hospitalized in isolation.
