CECC confirms 8 more imported COVID-19 cases


On December 1, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced eight new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the eight new imported cases, they are five men and three women, aged between 10 to 49 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Indonesia (five cases), Canada, the US, and Cambodia. They arrived between November 17 and November 29.

The CECC reported that a total of 4,475,425 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 4,457,677. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,609 cases. Of the 16,609 confirmed cases, 1,965 are imported; 14,590 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 111 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 848 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 848 deaths, 836 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
