CECC explains COVID-19 vaccination recommendations for individuals who have been vaccinated with Medigen vaccine and urgently need to travel abroad

On November 12, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that after discussion by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, individuals who have received a dose or two doses of the Medigen vaccine can be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine granted emergency use authorization by Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration and imported to Taiwan prior to departure if they are required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination according to the requirements in the destination.

Individuals who urgently need to travel abroad should bring related documents (e.g., electronic flight tickets, proof of enrollment/documents detailing business travel), their NHI card, and their COVID-19 Vaccination Record to the vaccination appointment and get vaccinated after a doctor's assessment. An interval of 28 days between the last dose of the Medigen vaccine and another COVID-19 vaccine is recommended.
