On July 13, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 29 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 29 new cases, 28 are domestic and the other 1 is imported. The CECC also announced six deaths today.

The CECC pointed out that of the 28 domestic cases (of whom, 11 tested positive when they were in home isolation or completed their isolation period), 18 are men and the other 10 are women, aged between under 10 to 89 years old. They began to suffer the onset of symptoms between June 26 and July 12, 2021. Regarding those domestic cases, New Taipei City reported the most cases, at 15, and Taipei City had the second highest number, at 9. Taoyuan City reported 2 cases; Hsinchu County and Taichung City reported 1 case each.

Regarding the six deaths announced today, they were four men and two women between 60 and 89 years old.

Regarding the new imported cases, Case #15387 is a Taiwanese male in his 40s. He arrived in Taiwan from Indonesia on June 30. He developed a mild fever, muscle pain, and other symptoms on July 8, and the health authority arranged for him to be tested. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on July 13.

The CECC reported that a total of 1,661,153 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 1,644,686. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 15,302 cases. Of the 15,302 confirmed cases, 1,204 are imported; 14,045 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 2 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 105 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 747 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 747 deaths, 739 are from domestic cases and the other 8 are from imported.
