CECC explains related quarantine measures in response to recent cases in Palau

On January 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that due to the escalating coronavirus situation in Palau and to ensure disease prevention efforts in the community, travelers coming to Taiwan from Palau are required to show an RT-PCR test result within two days prior to boarding and follow strengthened testing and quarantine measures after arrival, while the current Green Lane still applies to the entry of such travelers.

The strengthened testing and quarantine measures will be effective from January 22, 2021. Travelers arriving from Palau will be required to undergo a five-day quarantine at a government-funded government quarantine facility, practice enhanced self-health management for nine days, and then observe self-health management for seven days. Travelers should also undergo PCR tests upon arrival (in the government quarantine facility) and on the fifth day and between the 13th and 14th day; also, they should take rapid tests using home test kits on the eighth and 11th days as well as before the end of the self-health management period (on the 20th or 21st day).
