On May 2, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced three new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. A total of 432 cases have been confirmed in Taiwan as of writing. Case #430 is an over 60-year-old female, and Case #431 is an over 30-year-old female while Case #432 is an over 40-year-old male. Case #430 visited Australia on February 22 and traveled to Japan from Australia on March 24. She developed a fever, cough and vomiting on April 9. She voluntarily reported her symptoms to quarantine officers at the airport when returning to Taiwan on April 30. The quarantine officers collected her specimens and reported the case to the health authority. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on May 2. Cases #431 and 432 are a couple who visited Senegal for work on February 11. The couple developed fatigue and coughing on April 26 and April 27. As they both had coughing when returning to Taiwan on May 1, quarantine officers at the airport collected their specimens and reported the cases to the health authority. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the cases on May 2.
