On February 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 12,060 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 12,060 new cases, 11,808 are domestic and 252 are imported. The CECC announced 44 deaths today.

Regarding the 11,808 new domestic cases, 5,471 are male and 6,330 are female, while the gender of the other seven cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,120 were reported in New Taipei City, 1,593 in Taoyuan City, 1,428 in Kaohsiung City, 1,331 in Taichung City, 1,037 in Tainan City, 1,006 in Taipei City, 578 in Changhua County, 379 in Hsinchu County, 316 in Pingtung County, 307 in Miaoli County, 247 in Yunlin County, 244 in Yilan County, 227 in Hsinchu City, 203 in Nantou County, 187 in Keelung City, 186 in Chiayi County, 163 in Hualien County, 102 in Chiayi City, 67 in Taitung County, 44 in Penghu County, 40 in Kinmen County, and three in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 44 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 21 men and 23 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 252 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between January 21 and February 18.

The CECC data showed that since 2020, there have been a cumulative total of 9,937,216 confirmed cases and a cumulative total of 17,564 COVID-19 deaths in Taiwan.
