CECC confirms 48,267 more COVID-19 cases, including 48,205 domestic cases and 62 imported cases


On October 14, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 48,267 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 48,267 new cases, 48,205 are domestic and 62 are imported. The CECC announced 80 deaths today

Regarding the 48,405 new domestic cases, 21,970 are male and 26,211 are female, while the gender of the other 24 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 9,251 were reported in New Taipei City, 6,372 in Taichung City, 5,158 in Taoyuan City, 4,980 in Kaohsiung City, 4,849 in Taipei City, 3,719 in Tainan City, 2,494 in Changhua County, 1,554 in Pingtung County, 1,213 in Hsinchu County, 1,192 in Yunlin County, 1,187 in Miaoli County, 1,093 in Hsinchu City, 940 in Yilan County, 828 in Chiayi County, 759 in Keelung City, 700 in Nantou County, 685 in Hualien County, 523 in Chiayi City, 346 in Taitung County, 191 in Kinmen County, 156 in Penghu County, and 15 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 80 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 49 men and 31 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 62 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between September 13 and October 13, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 18,639,311 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,537,642. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 7,098,970 cases. Of the 7,098,970 confirmed cases, 35,680 are imported; 7,063,236 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 11,766 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 11,766 deaths, 11,750 are from domestic cases and the other 16 are from imported cases.
