CECC confirms 50,636 more COVID-19 cases, including 50,561 domestic cases and 75 imported cases


On June 19, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 50,636 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 50,636 new cases, 50,561 are domestic and 75 are imported. The CECC announced 172 deaths today.

Regarding the 50,561 new domestic cases, 23,669 are male and 26,874 are female, while the gender of the other 19 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 7,820 were reported in Taichung City, 7,391 in Kaohsiung City, 6,133 in New Taipei City, 5,085 in Tainan City, 4,093 in Taoyuan City, 3,750 in Changhua County, 3,265 in Taipei City, 2,248 in Pingtung County, 1,311 in Yunlin County, 1,254 in Nantou County, 1,203 in Hsinchu County, 1,124 in Miaoli County, 1,048 in Chiayi County, 1,008 in Hsinchu City, 969 in Yilan County, 664 in Chiayi City, 663 in Keelung City, 637 in Hualien County, 504 in Taitung County, 252 in Penghu County, 123 in Kinmen County, and 16 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 172 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 107 men and 65 women ranging in age from under five to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 75 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between May 27 and June 18, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 12,758,563 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,460,791. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 3,295,076 cases. Of the 3,295,076 confirmed cases, 13,823 are imported; 3,281,199 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 5,221 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 5,221 deaths, 5,206 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
