On January 26, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 92 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 92 new cases, 46 are domestic and 46 are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the domestic cases, they are 24 men and 22 women, aged between under five and 79 years.

Regarding the 46 new imported cases, they are 27 men and 19 women, aged between under five and 69 years. 23 of them arrived in Taiwan from the US (nine cases), the UK (two cases), Canada (two cases), the Netherlands (two cases), Malaysia, the UAE, France, China, Sweden, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore; the areas where the remaining 23 cases arrived are being investigated. They all arrived between January 9 and January 25, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 5,542,669 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 5,523,800. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 18,503 cases. Of the 18,503 confirmed cases, 3,475 are imported; 14,974 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 122 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 851 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 851 deaths, 838 are from domestic cases and the other 13 are from imported cases.
