On November 9, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 24,857 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 24,857 new cases, 24,798 are domestic and 59 are imported. The CECC announced 66 deaths today.

Regarding the 24,798 new domestic cases, 11,395 are male and 13,389 are female, while the gender of the other 14 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 4,053 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,565 in Kaohsiung City, 3,381 in Taichung City, 2,419 in Tainan City, 2,343 in Taoyuan City, 2,194 in Taipei City, 1,149 in Changhua County, 889 in Pingtung County, 634 in Hsinchu County, 610 in Hsinchu City, 592 in Yunlin County, 496 in Chiayi County, 471 in Miaoli County, 454 in Nantou County, 392 in Yilan County, 348 in Keelung City, 328 in Chiayi City, 201 in Hualien County, 160 in Taitung County, 54 in Kinmen County, 48 in Penghu County, and 17 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 66 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 36 men and 30 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 59 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between September 27 and November 8, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,640,717 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,684,100. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 7,953,885 cases. Of the 7,953,885 confirmed cases, 36,776 are imported; 7,917,055 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 13,313 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 13,313 deaths, 13,296 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
