CECC confirms 18,558 more COVID-19 cases, including 18,509 domestic cases and 49 imported cases


On November 15, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 18,558 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 18,558 new cases, 18,509 are domestic and 49 are imported. The CECC announced 43 deaths today.

Regarding the 18,509 new domestic cases, 8,565 are male and 9,934 are female, while the gender of the other 10 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,742 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,569 in Kaohsiung City, 2,064 in Taichung City, 1,894 in Tainan City, 1,709 in Taipei City, 1,708 in Taoyuan City, 999 in Changhua County, 755 in Pingtung County, 621 in Yunlin County, 515 in Miaoli County, 456 in Chiayi County, 428 in Hsinchu County, 376 in Hsinchu City, 366 in Nantou County, 308 in Chiayi City, 251 in Yilan County, 236 in Keelung City, 227 in Hualien County, 157 in Taitung County, 74 in Kinmen County, 53 in Penghu County, and one in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 43 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 26 men and 17 women ranging in age from 50 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 49 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between October 15 and November 14, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,787,098 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,714,937. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,069,442 cases. Of the 8,069,442 confirmed cases, 37,023 are imported; 8,032,365 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 13,645 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 13,645 deaths, 13,628 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
