CECC confirms 15,877 more COVID-19 cases, including 15,747 domestic cases and 130 imported cases


On February 19, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 15,877 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 15,877 new cases, 15,747 are domestic and 130 are imported. The CECC announced 68 deaths (including one imported case) today.

Regarding the 15,747 new domestic cases, 7,138 are male and 8,604 are female, while the gender of the other five cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,973 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,031 in Taoyuan City, 1,851 in Kaohsiung City, 1,805 in Taichung City, 1,397 in Tainan City, 1,362 in Taipei City, 697 in Changhua County, 500 in Hsinchu County, 401 in Pingtung County, 383 in Yunlin County, 370 in Hsinchu City, 325 in Miaoli County, 302 in Keelung City, 301 in Yilan County, 246 in Nantou County, 245 in Hualien County, 220 in Chiayi County, 149 in Chiayi City, 111 in Taitung County, 44 in Kinmen County, 28 in Penghu County, and six in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 67 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 41 men and 26 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 130 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between January 19 to February 17.

The CECC data showed that since 2020, there have been a cumulative total of 9,925,158 confirmed cases and a cumulative total of 17,520 COVID-19 deaths in Taiwan.
