On April 12, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced three new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan, with two being imported and one being indigenous. A total of 388 cases have been confirmed in Taiwan as of writing. The indigenous case is an over 20-year-old male (Case #386). He is a friend of Case #195 (infected in the United States). Case #386, living with Case #195, was listed as a contact and underwent home isolation after Case #195 was confirmed to have COVID-19. Case #386 had allergy symptoms. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 12. 

With respect to imported cases, Case #387 is an over 40-year-old male who visited the United States for work on February 20. He developed a cough and sore throat on March 25. He was tested for COVID-19 at the airport when returning to Taiwan on April 10. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 12. Case #388 is an over 40-year-old female and wife of Case #358. She traveled with her husband to the United Kingdom to visit their relatives on January 13. She arrived in Taiwan on April 2, and experienced a loss of sense of smell and taste during home quarantine. She sought medical attention and was tested for COVID-19 on April 3. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 12.
