CECC confirms 25,171 more COVID-19 cases, including 24,907 domestic cases and 264 imported cases


On July 21, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 25,171 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 25,171 new cases, 24,907 are domestic and 264 are imported. The CECC announced 74 deaths today.

Regarding the 24,907 new domestic cases, 11,239 are male and 13,647 are female, while the gender of the other 21 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 4,365 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,115 in Taichung City, 2,677 in Taipei City, 2,520 in Taoyuan City, 2,517 in Kaohsiung City, 2,042 in Tainan City, 1,151 in Changhua County, 759 in Pingtung County, 693 in Hsinchu County, 644 in Miaoli County, 643 in Yunlin County, 594 in Hsinchu City, 543 in Yilan County, 529 in Chiayi County, 452 in Nantou County, 407 in Hualien County, 381 in Keelung City, 326 in Taitung County, 245 in Chiayi City, 168 in Penghu County, 133 in Kinmen County, and 21 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 74 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 43 men and 31 women ranging in age from under five to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 264 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between July 4 and 20, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 14,411,916 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 10,042,236. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 4,362,227 cases. Of the 4,362,227 confirmed cases, 17,656 are imported; 4,344,517 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 8,392 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 8,392 deaths, 8,377 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
