- Hospitals seeking the qualification to conduct physical examinations for Taiwan-bound workers shall submit the following supporting documents to our Representative Office in their country for verification. Once the documents are verified, the Representative Office shall forward the application to the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) in Taiwan. Upon approval by the MOHW, the hospital will be accredited to conduct physical examinations for Taiwan-bound workers.
- (1)Hospitals must provide relevant proof of having obtained accreditation to conduct required physical examinations for Taiwan-bound workers from their home country government health authorities.
- (2)Hospitals must provide relevant proof of having obtained accreditation or recommendation to conduct required physical examinations for Taiwan-bound workers from their home country government labor authorities (responsible for overseas labor affairs).
- (3)Hospitals must provide proof of having obtained valid accreditation granted by accreditation authorities under the mutual recognition agreement of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation, or from other internationally recognized laboratory accreditation authorities. The items for which a hospital has obtained laboratory accreditation should include at least stool examination for parasites, serological tests for syphilis, etc.
- MOHW regularly reviews the qualification of the approved hospitals conducting physical examination for Taiwan-bound workers, and has established the following qualification revocation criteria:
- (1)Hospitals conducting physical examination for more than 100 people every quarter and the failure rate among their examinees is 2% and higher when those workers undergo re-examination at the designated hospitals in Taiwan.
- (2)Hospitals conducting physical examination for less than 100 people every quarter and the number of their examinees who fail is more than 2 when those workers undergo re-examination at the designated hospitals in Taiwan.
- (3)Hospitals conducting physical examination for less than 10 people every quarter and the number of their examinees who fail is more than 1 when those workers undergo re-examination at the designated hospitals in Taiwan.
- (4)Hospitals ascertained by the competent authority in Taiwan to have issued untruthful physical examination reports or have breached the rules regulating the physical examination process for Taiwan-bound workers.
- If hospitals qualified for conducing health examination for Taiwan-bound workers by MOHW have their qualification revoked due to the above-mentioned conditions, they will not be allowed to conduct physical examination for Taiwan-bound workers for one year and will need to submit another application once the one-year period expires. They may only regain their qualification upon approval from MOHW.
