Application Procedures for Hospitals in migrant worker Motherlands to Acquire the Qualification to Conduct Physical Examination for Taiwan-bound Workers and Qualification Revocation Criteria

  1. Hospitals seeking the qualification to conduct physical examination for Taiwan-bound workers need to first obtain the accreditation from both their country’s Departments of Health and Labor, then have the accreditation documents audited and approved by our Representative Office in their country for submitting application to the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) in Taiwan. After our MOHW has approved of the application, the hospital can then perform physical examination for Taiwan-bound workers.
  2. MOHW regularly reviews the qualification of the approved hospitals conducting physical examination for Taiwan-bound workers, and has established the following qualification revocation criteria:
    • (1)Hospitals conducting physical examination for more than 100 people every quarter and the failure rate among their examinees is 2% and higher when those workers undergo re-examination at the designated hospitals in Taiwan.
    • (2)Hospitals conducting physical examination for less than 100 people every quarter and the number of their examinees who fail is more than 2 when those workers undergo re-examination at the designated hospitals in Taiwan.
    • (3)Hospitals conducting physical examination for less than 10 people every quarter and the number of their examinees who fail is more than 1 when those workers undergo re-examination at the designated hospitals in Taiwan.
    • (4)Hospitals ascertained by the competent authority in Taiwan to have issued untruthful physical examination reports or have breached the rules regulating the physical examination process for Taiwan-bound workers.
  3. If hospitals qualified for conducing health examination for Taiwan-bound workers by MOHW have their qualification revoked due to the above-mentioned conditions, they will not be allowed to conduct physical examination for Taiwan-bound workers for one year and will need to submit another application once the one-year period expires. They may only regain their qualification upon approval from MOHW.
