Abstract:

The epidemiology of major salivary gland tumors is one area yet to be developed in the study of cancers as major salivary gland tumors are different from other tumors of the digestive system. They are rarely seen, and of all malignant neoplasms, they occupy only less than 1 %. Even among malignant neoplasms of the head and neck areas, salivary gland tumors occupy less than 10%.(3,8) They, though rare, involve various different tissue cell types.
