Policy Review after the First Novel Influenza A (H1N1) Case in Kaohsiung-Pingtung Area

Abstract:

In order to prevent the second episode of pandemic novel influenza A (H1N1) and to respond timely to emerging infectious diseases, summing up the experiences in management of the first wave of confirmed cases is of paramount importance. In this article, we analyzed the first confirmed novel influenza A (H1N1) case in Kaohsiung- Pingtung area and discussed policies in prevention and control of the disease, including case reporting, case isolation, passengers list checking, specimen collection and testing, and the prescription of antiviral drugs.
