Abstract:

Injuries have been the third leading cause of death in the Taiwan area, of which traffic injuries account for more injury deaths. In 1989 for instance, of the 14,047 injury deaths in the Taiwan area, 56% died of traffic injuries on land. Injuries are the first cause of death of children between 1 and 14 years of age in the Taiwan area. Of every two injury deaths of the youngsters, one is a result of traffic injury.(1)
