Taiwan CDC is a leading public health agency in Taiwan that plays a key role in protecting all people on this island from the threats of infectious diseases such as TB, HIV/AIDS and dengue fever. The English edition of our annual report presents CDC’s achievements of last year and its future goals, and it also intends to give its readers an overview of the center. In 2010, we faced Dengue Fever outbreak, In order to deal with the rising dengue fever epidemic and to coordinate and supervise relevant disease control activities, the Central Epidemic Command Center for Dengue Fever (CECCDF) was established on October 21 and an action plan was devised. Through the joint efforts by the central and local governments as well as the community, the epidemic abated and CECCDF was disbanded at the end of 2011. We also introduce our national communicable diseases surveillance systems, important communication disease prevention and control, including tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, enteroviruses as well as denude fever. Facing the threat of novel influenza, we also emphasize the importance of , eEmergency pPreparedness & rResponse. Our 、nNational iImmunization pPrograms has also been successfully implemented. Also, with our outstanding employees, we also accomplish a lot in researching, developing and manufacturing. Knowing that during a pandemic, it’s extremely important for the public to stay calm, thus making the public more knowledgeable about the communicable diseases has been an vital issue for us, as a result, we think health marketing plays a key role in educating our people. Except making every effort to make Taiwan a safer and healthier place, as a member of global village, we also put much emphasis on international cooperation. We believe that with our responsible and distinguished employees, Taiwan will be a healthier place for people on this island and for people abroad.
