COVID-19 Entry Quarantine and Healthcare Information Website for Inbound Passengers

Attention to all arrivals. Starting September 29, 2022,
all inbound passengers are required to observe the mandatory policy of three days of quarantine and four days of self-initiated epidemic prevention at their home or the residence of a friend or family member that meets the requirement of one person per room. Individuals aged two and above will be provided with four at-home rapid test kits.

Pre-boarding Preparation
  • Passengers who test positive for COVID-19 outside Taiwan should not take a flight to Taiwan within 7 days starting from their specimen collection date.(Both rapid-test or PCR test, the day with positice test result stands for D0)
  • Prepare a personal cell phone which could surf the internet.(Taiwan SIM Card is needed)
  • Arrange one person per room resident or quarantine hotel in advance.
  • Scan the QR code to fill in the declaration on the Quarantine System for Entry 48 hours prior to scheduled arrival.
  • Show the "Departure Place Declaration Certificate"(which is acquired with complete filling of the Quarantine System for Entry) when arrive the pre-boarding port.
Procedure of Arrival boarding
  • Passengers with symptoms occur in 14 days before arrival should contect quarantine personnel and undergo a saliva test at the airport/port.
  • Use your personal cell phone to receive text messege and show the Home Quarantine Notice at the port(Taiwan SIM Card is needed)
  • Show the "Departure Place Declaration Certificate"(which is acquired with complete filling of the Quarantine System for Entry) and prepare documents(including: passport, VISA, health evaluation, proof of entry project, etc)
  • Four rapid test kits will be given to arrivals aged 2 and older.Please store the rapid test kits properly and take a test when appropriate.
    Since travelers below the age of two will not be provided with rapid test kits, they will not be required to take the tests during the period of quarantine and self-initiated epidemic prevention.
  • Move foward to qurantion location(travel through epidemic prevention taxis, epidemic prevention bus with no charge, driving, or getting a ride from a family and friends/company or organization).
Date of arrival (D0)
  • When to take a rapid test
    • On the day of arrival or the first day of quarantine (D0/D1): designated staff will call arrivals to inquire about their results, which will be recorded in the Tracing System.
    • The last day of the three-day period (D3).
    • During the self-initiated epidemic prevention period, a negative result from an at-home rapid test taken within two days is required before an arrival goes out.
    • When symptoms develop during the three-day home quarantine period and the four-day self-initiated epidemic prevention.
    • The rapid tests mentioned in Points 2 – 4 will be performed by arrivals themselves.
  • How to take a rapid test
  • Arrivals under the age of two and those who are not able to take rapid tests during the seven-day period of quarantine and self-initiated epidemic prevention are exempt from taking them. If they develop COVID-19 symptoms, they should contact the designated care worker who can refer them to the local health bureau for arranging medical treatment. Should an emergency occur, please call 119. For emergency medical care, in principle, calling 119 for an ambulance is the advised mode of transportation. Alternatively, following instructions to take a quarantine taxi, riding with a family member or friend residing in the same household, or seeking medical care by oneself (e.g., walking or driving/riding). Masks must be worn at all times and no public transportation is allowed.
Three-day Period of Home Quarentine (D0~D3)
  • An arrival can stay at home or in a residence of their friend or family member that meets the requirement of the one person per room or a quarantine hotel. The requirement of one person per room means, in principle, a single room used to undergo quarantine/self-initiated epidemic prevention should have a separate bathroom. An arrival cannot stay at a general hotel.
  • If rapid test result negative, please continue to complete the three-day period of Home quarentine and the four-day self-initiated epidemic prevention, and follow the related regulation.
    • Avoid nonessential outings.
    • A negative result from an at-home rapid test taken within two days is required when an arrival needs to go out for work or to buy daily necessities.
    • Masks must be worn at all times when going out and social distancing must be practiced.
    • An arrival fulfilling business contractual obligations may go to work, conduct site visits, give speeches, or have meetings. However, masks must be worn at all times and social distancing must be practiced throughout the process.
    • Masks must be worn at all times and social distancing must be practiced at work. Masks can be temporarily removed when dining and should be immediately put back on after eating.
    • Avoid visiting crowded places or having contact with non-specific persons.
    • An arrival fulfilling business contractual obligations may dine alone or with specific persons in a separate space in a restaurant provided that table dividers are installed or social distancing is practiced.
    • Non-urgent medical services and examinations should be postponed.
Four-day Period of Self-initiated Epidemic Prevention (D4~D7)
  • During the self-initiated epidemic prevention period, a negative result from an at-home rapid test taken within two days is required before an arrival goes out.
