Starting March 7, CECC to implement new quarantine and disease prevention and control measures for flight crews of Taiwanese airlines aboard flights arriving in Taiwan

On March 2, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it would make changes to quarantine regulations and related control measures for flight crew members of Taiwanese airlines, effective from March 7, 2022 (the incoming flight's arrival time in Taiwan). Related adjustments are listed below.

A. Crew members arriving from countries under Level 3 travel notice (long-haul flights):
a. Those who have received a COVID-19 booster shot for at least 14 days: a five-day home quarantine (a PCR test on Day 5) and a five-day self-health management (a rapid test on Day 7 and a PCR test on Day 10).
b. Those who have not received a booster shot (including those who have received a booster dose for a period of less than 14 days): a five-day home quarantine (a PCR test on Day 5) and a nine-day enhanced self-health management (PCR tests on Day 9 and Day 14).
c. If the one person per residence rule is met, crew members can continue to complete the abovementioned quarantine at their residence after their airline schedules PCR tests for them on the date of arrival.

B. Crew members who have not entered countries under Level 3 travel notice and have returned to Taiwan the same day (short-haul flights):
a. Those who have received a COVID-19 booster shot for at least 14 days: a seven-day self-health monitoring, PCR testing every seven days, and a rapid test between two PCR tests (three to four days apart).
b. Those who have not received a booster shot (including those who have received a booster for a period of less than 14 days): a seven-day self-health management and PCR testing every seven days.
