Starting August 30, basic-level community clinics to be involved in implementation of COVID-19 community surveillance measure

On August 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) pointed out that starting today, it will implement the strengthened COVID-19 community surveillance measure that requires doctors at basic-level community clinics to help evaluate clinical symptoms of people seeking medical attention and to distribute government-funded COVID-19 home test kits to patients as needed.

The strengthened COVID-19 community surveillance measure will be enforced from today to December 31, 2021, and a total of 82 clinics across 18 counties and cities are involved in implementing the measure. Doctors can provide a home test kit and leaflet of precautions for use to a patient based on their diagnosis if the patient seeking medical attention at a clinic that distributes home test kits is an individual aged 2 and older with respiratory symptoms; doctors can provide a home test kit to an individual accompanying a child aged 2 and below based on their evaluation.
