CECC confirms 34,118 more COVID-19 cases, including 33,875 domestic cases and 243 imported cases

On September 1, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 34,118 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 34,118 new cases, 33,875 are domestic and 243 are imported. The CECC announced 36 deaths today.

Regarding the 33,875 new domestic cases, 15,491 are male and 18,372 are female, while the gender of the other 12 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 7,415 were reported in New Taipei City, 4,317 in Taipei City, 3,990 in Taichung City, 3,536 in Taoyuan City, 2,710 in Kaohsiung City, 2,074 in Tainan City, 1,495 in Changhua County, 1,086 in Hsinchu County, 965 in Hsinchu City, 915 in Miaoli County, 783 in Pingtung County, 684 in Yunlin County, 626 in Yilan County, 616 in Hualien County, 616 in Keelung City, 577 in Nantou County, 507 in Chiayi County, 377 in Chiayi City, 249 in Taitung County, 160 in Penghu County, 158 in Kinmen County, and 19 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 36 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 15 men and 21 women ranging in age from 20 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 243 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between August 2 and 31, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 16,243,719 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 10,893,613. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 5,342,106 cases. Of the 5,342,106 confirmed cases, 28,061 are imported; 5,313,991 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 9,950 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 9,950 deaths, 9,934 are from domestic cases and the other 16 are from imported cases.
