On March 24, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 139 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 139 new cases, 15 are domestic and 124 are imported (88 of them tested positive after landing). The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the new domestic cases, they are six men and nine women ranging in age from 10 to 89 years.

Regarding the 124 new imported cases, they are 59 men and 65 women ranging in age from under five to 69 years. Of the cases, 49 arrived in Taiwan from Vietnam, nine from Indonesia, six from Korea, five from Hong Kong, four from Thailand, three from Myanmar, two each from Malaysia, France, the Philippines, and the US, and one each from Germany, Cambodia, the UK, Japan, Australia, Malta and Italy; the areas the remaining 33 cases arrived from are being investigated. They all arrived between February 20 and March 23, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 6,812,424 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 6,789,715. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 22,327 cases. Of the 22,327 confirmed cases, 6,738 are imported; 15,535 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 135 cases have been removed as confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 853 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 853 deaths, 839 are from domestic cases and the other 14 are from imported cases.
