CECC confirms 45,110 more COVID-19 cases, including 45,081 domestic cases and 29 imported cases

On June 13, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 45,110 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 45,110 new cases, 45,081 are domestic and 29 are imported. The CECC announced 109 deaths today.

Regarding the 45,081 new domestic cases, 21,513 are male and 23,557 are female, while the gender of the other 11 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 7,184 were reported in Kaohsiung City, 6,694 in Taichung City, 5,470 in New Taipei City, 3,971 in Taoyuan City, 3,969 in Tainan City, 3,545 in Changhua County, 3,099 in Taipei City, 1,924 in Pingtung County, 1,160 in Hsinchu County, 1,140 in Miaoli County, 1,034 in Yunlin County, 1,021 in Nantou County, 849 in Chiayi County, 792 in Hsinchu City, 723 in Yilan County, 674 in Hualien County, 535 in Keelung City, 518 in Chiayi City, 471 in Taitung County, 199 in Penghu County, 97 in Kinmen County, and 12 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 109 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 61 men and 48 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 29 new imported cases, they were 20 men and nine women ranging in age from under five to 69 years. Of the cases, three arrived from Vietnam, and two each from Turkey and German. The areas the remaining 22 cases arrived from are being investigated. They all arrived between June 11 and 12, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 12,294,824 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,353,700. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 2,937,363 cases. Of the 2,937,363 confirmed cases, 13,465 are imported; 2,923,844 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 4,280 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 4,280 deaths, 4,265 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
