On September 26, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced eight new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. All those cases are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the eight new imported cases, they are two men and six women, aged between 10 to 49 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Myanmar (six cases), Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates. They arrived between September 2 and September 24.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,289,349 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,271,665. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,189 cases. Of the 16,189 confirmed cases, 1,556 are imported; 14,579 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 841 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 841 deaths, 829 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
