CECC confirms 33,184 more COVID-19 cases, including 33,116 domestic cases and 68 imported cases

On November 2, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 33,184 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 33,184 new cases, 33,116 are domestic and 68 are imported. The CECC announced 53 deaths today.

Regarding the 33,116 new domestic cases, 15,258 are male and 17,840 are female, while the gender of the other 18 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 5,882 were reported in New Taipei City, 4,613 in Taichung City, 4,205 in Kaohsiung City, 3,538 in Taoyuan City, 2,937 in Tainan City, 2,864 in Taipei City, 1,646 in Changhua County, 1,082 in Pingtung County, 816 in Hsinchu County, 739 in Yunlin County, 736 in Hsinchu City, 714 in Miaoli County, 657 in Chiayi County, 616 in Nantou County, 527 in Yilan County, 476 in Keelung City, 389 in Chiayi City, 332 in Hualien County, 164 in Taitung County, 106 in Kinmen County, 67 in Penghu County, and 10 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 53 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 32 men and 21 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 68 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between October 2 and November 1, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,429,721 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,646,845. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 7,780,125 cases. Of the 7,780,125 confirmed cases, 36,485 are imported; 7,743,586 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 12,929 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 12,929 deaths, 12,912 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
