Government-funded regular rapid testing measures in residential, community care institutions extended until August 31 to protect health of care recipients and staff in these institutions

On July 21, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the government-funded regular rapid testing measures in residential as well as community-based care institutions have been extended until August 31, 2022. Under this rapid testing scheme, care recipients are required to undergo two rapid tests every week (persons with mental or physical disabilities, persons with dementia, and people aged 2-18 undergo a test each week and testing is not required for children under 2 years of age). Furthermore, staff at such institutions are required to take at least one rapid test each week, while those who have recovered from COVID-19 are exempted from testing within three months.
