CECC confirms 60,103 more COVID-19 cases, including 60,042 domestic cases and 61 imported cases


On May 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 60,103 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 60,103 new cases, 60,042 are domestic and 61 are imported (34 of them tested positive upon landing). The CECC announced 109 deaths today

Regarding the 60,042 new domestic cases, 28,755 are male and 31,273 are female, while the gender of the other 14 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 10,668 were reported in New Taipei City, 8,333 in Kaohsiung City, 7,540 in Taichung City, 6,493 in Taoyuan City, 5,565 in Taipei City, 4,278 in Tainan City, 3,159 in Changhua County, 2,127 in Pingtung County, 1,894 in Hsinchu County, 1,664 in Miaoli County, 1,246 in Yunlin County, 1,126 in Hsinchu City, 1,026 in Keelung City, 1,003 in Yilan County, 938 in Hualien County, 901 in Nantou County, 779 in Chiayi County, 600 in Taitung County, 432 in Chiayi City, 132 in Kinmen County, 120 in Penghu County, and 18 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 109 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 70 men and 39 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 61 new imported cases, they were 28 men and 33 women ranging in age from under five to 99 years. Of the cases, six arrived from the US, and one from Germany; the areas the remaining 54 cases arrived from are being investigated. They all arrived between May 28 and 29, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 11,058,044 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,109,556. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 1,952,355 cases. Of the 1,952,355 confirmed cases, 12,942 are imported; 1,939,359 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 2,165 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 2,165 deaths, 2,150 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
