On December 9, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 2 new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Those 2 new cases arrived in Taiwan from Myanmar (Case #720) and Indonesia (Case #721).
Case #720 is an over 40-year-old man from Myanmar, He came to Taiwan to work on November 22. The man hasn't developed any symptoms since arrival. After completing the quarantine period on December 7, he continued to observe self-health management, and he took a self-paid COVID-19 test on the same day. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on December 9.
Case #721 is an over 40 year-old man from Indonesia. He visited Taiwan to work on November 21. The Indonesian man hasn't shown symptoms since arrival. The man continued to follow self-health management measure after completing the quarantine period on December 6. The company he worked for arranged for him to take a self-paid COVID-19 test on December 7. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on December 9.
