Starting Jan. 24, CECC to adjust visitation, new resident management measures and COVID-19 response measures for residential long-term care facilities in Taiwan in response to domestic COVID-19 situation

On January 24, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it will make adjustments to responsive measures for residential long-term care facilities nationwide starting today in response to recent domestic confirmed cases and to prevent COVID-19 from spreading in the care facilities. Key measures are listed below.

A. Visitation management: visits will not be allowed except for certain situations. People who obtain the permission of the facilities for a visit under a special situation must present a negative result from a self-paid COVID-19 test taken within three days prior to their visit.

B. Management of new residents: regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination status, new residents must:
(1) present a negative result from a self-paid COVID-19 test within three days prior to their admission.
(2) follow related control measures adopted by the facilities based on the percentage of staff who have received the required COVID-19 doses for at least 14 days.
