CECC reminds public to follow its recommendations for people receiving their second dose of AstraZeneca or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine

On July 23, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that members of the public eligible to get their second dose of the AstraZeneca or Moderna vaccine can get a government-funded second dose of either vaccine at healthcare facilities contracted for COVID-19 vaccinations in cities and counties.

The CECC pointed out that the current recommended interval between two doses of the AstraZeneca and Moderna vaccines is 10-12 weeks, whereas individuals in the top three priority groups and pregnant women can receive their second dose of the Moderna vaccine 28 days after their first shot. People who plan to travel abroad and urgently need to receive their second dose before the recommended interval should provide related documents of proof (such as flight tickets) to a vaccination site which can offer them vaccinations at its discretion. Members of the public who registered on the COVID-19 vaccination appointment reservation system are advised to make an appointment after receiving a text message as the recommended interval between the first shot and second shot for them is 10 weeks.
