Starting today, CECC to adjust visitation, new resident management measures and COVID-19 response measures for residential long-term care facilities in Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung, and Taoyuan cities


On January 9, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that COVID-19 response measures for residential long-term care facilities in Taipei City, New Taipei City, Keelung City, Taoyuan City will be adjusted starting today in response to community infections associated with the Omicron cluster infection at Taoyuan International Airport. Key points of the changed measures are listed below.

1. Visitation management: visits will not be allowed except for certain situations. People who obtain the permission of the facilities for a visit under a special situation must present a negative result from a self-paid COVID-19 test taken within three days prior to their visit.
2. Management of new residents: regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination status, new residents must:
(1) present a negative result from a self-paid COVID-19 test within three days prior to their admission.
(2) follow related control measures adopted by the facilities based on the percentage of staff having received the required COVID-19 doses.
