On April 11, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that Taiwan has signed an agreement with Pfizer for the procurement of 700,000 courses of the oral drug Paxlovid; 350,000 courses of the 700,000 ordered will be shipped to the country before the second quarter of this year, and the order for the other 350,000 courses was placed as an open-ended contract to meet the needs of epidemic control. Regarding the previous procurement of Paxlovid, 15,200 courses of the 20,000 ordered will be delivered to the country in recent months.
