CECC confirms 44,428 more COVID-19 cases, including 44,379 domestic cases and 49 imported cases


On June 28, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 44,428 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 44,428 new cases, 44,379 are domestic and 49 are imported. The CECC announced 103 deaths today.

Regarding the 44,379 new domestic cases, 21,130 are male and 23,229 are female, while the gender of the other 20 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 6,397 were reported in Taichung City, 5,816 in Kaohsiung City, 5,653 in New Taipei City, 4,145 in Tainan City, 3,521 in Taoyuan City, 3,452 in Changhua County, 3,116 in Taipei City, 2,053 in Pingtung County, 1,432 in Yunlin County, 1,151 in Miaoli County, 1,073 in Chiayi County, 1,069 in Hsinchu County, 999 in Nantou County, 870 in Yilan County, 760 in Hsinchu City, 678 in Hualien County, 647 in Chiayi City, 553 in Taitung County, 491 in Keelung City, 241 in Penghu County, 240 in Kinmen County, and 22 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 103 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 60 men and 43 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 49 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between June 26 and 27, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 13,299,702 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,611,932. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 3,686,338 cases. Of the 3,686,338 confirmed cases, 14,429 are imported; 3,671,855 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 6,448 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 6,448 deaths, 6,433 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
